GETTING YOUR LICENSE IS IMPORTANT!
 
Step 1) Get Your Plates & Insurance. Contact the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division to obtain a taxicab license plate. You will also need to provide proof of commercial insurance as is required by Arizona Revised Statute 28-4033 A2(c)
 
Step 2) Get Your License Sticker. Visit or call us to obtain your official taxi sticker. A commercial device application is required. For additional information about obtaining a license you may contact the Department. Once a license is issued, you will receive a license sticker which must be placed on the rear window of the licensed taxi.Annual stickers will be available when you are tested and pay your license fee.
 
Step 3)Check Out City Requirements. Many cities have additional requirements. To view those that pertain to your area, scroll down and choose the city.

1)   POST PRICES.
 
2)   GET INSPECTED. All taxis conducting business in Arizona are subject to inspection by the Department. Arizona follows the guidelines and inspection methods set in NIST Handbook 44.

All taxis with meters are required to have an indication of the fare, including extras. The mode of operation, such as "time" or "hired," shall be constantly displayed whenever the meter is in operation. Passengers must be able to easily read all fees from a distance of 4 feet under any condition of normal operation. The minimum height of the figures used to indicate the fare shall be 10 mm and for extras 8 mm (approx. 1/3"').
